Parish Mission

We held a PARISH MISSION at St Philip the Apostle Church, Mountview from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd April, 2010

It was given by St. Patrick’s Community

Monday to Thursday there was Mass at 9.30am where one of the team spoke.

The Evening Sessions were held each day at 7.30pm.

Night 1 – God’s Love The Amazing story of John Pridmore

John Pridmore ex-gangster and best selling author of book ‘From Gangland to Promised Land’ spoke on Monday night. He has been interviewed on The Kelly Show, ITV, TV3, BBC, UTV and numerous daily newspapers and radio shows. John has worked with people such as Mother Teresa and has met Pope John Paul II. His books were available and he autographed them after the service. He spoke of God’s deep love for each of us.

Night 2 – God’s Mercy A chance to meet Jesus personally

Confessions were available this evening and the service lasted over 2 hours due to the huge amount of people who availed of the sacrament.

Night 3 – God’s Healing Healing Service

Each person present was blessed with the Body of Christ and there was a great sense of peace and healing at this service.

Night 4 – God’s gift of Mary The love of Mary for us

People were invited to leave petitions to Mary tonight for their needs.

Night 5 – Mass of the Holy Spirit The most powerful prayer of the Catholic Church

The final night was concluded with Mass of the Holy Spirit and like every other night of the mission the Church was full to capacity. Many commented afterwards that they had received so many blessings during the week and were sad it had come to an end.

Each Mass and service was enriched by the wonderful singing from Breda, a member of the Mission team.

The Priests and Parish Pastoral Council would like to extend our thanks to St Patrick’s Community for the wonderful week they gave to everyone, and also to everyone who helped in any way during the week.

Please continue to pray for St Patrick’s community as they continue God’s work in each Parish they visit.
